Val Sesia Weekend Trip

As it is just some 6 hours of driving from Ljubljana to the beautiful rivers of Italian Piemont it is still worse it even for just prolonged weekend. (Unlike the horrible almost 12 hour drive from Prague). So we escaped from work and school duties already on Wednesday, loaded our plastic sweethearts and listening to the rhythms of the coolest Slovene raper Klemen Klemen set off to – as some would say- run the shit.

Our first river of the trip –Soanna- could be found in a deep gorge and thanks to a pretty heavy night rain it has an ideal water level.

Why not to go over the rocks if it is possible on the water..;) Muki.

Well, there was a hole big enough to be happy to get over it. Čiži.

Will the iron rods in the weir rip your boat apart or are you lucky enough? Not really, actually there was a safe way through. Kozo.

The best boof ever presented by Slovene rodeo champion 2009,2010, 2011, ? 2012 ?Andraž Krpičič:P

We don’t mind that it is raining while waiting for the shuttle – the schnapps (šnopc) keeps us nicely warm:)

Beautiful and inteligent young people searching for a place to set up their tents by the Ivrea slalom course...

Moving up norths, the sun welcomed us in the miraculous valley of Val Sessia, where we enjoyd drops and waterfalls on the classic - Egua.

The various uses of the dry suit:) Bojan.

Our evening run for fun on Balmuccia klamm (Bambůča:) Short but exciting and it is nice to prolongue those 20 minutes in the gorge with a few drops above.

Lets take pictures of each other;)

Sorba invited us to hers amazing blue rapids with a great water level.

Reliable safety on the first place. The rapid under the bridge, just few of us run it and some even received the highest evaluation for a great rodeo show.¨

Brave Kozo in charge:)

The back tows in the double drop rapid were pretty sticky, but thanks to Veloc I managed to keep my new haircut dry :)

The true Italian paddlers snack on the riverbank – prosciutto, cheese and baguette:)

Checking the water on Sermenza roman bridge-rather low but still runnable.

View of Gronda and the fairy-tale village of Rassa, the river with its exciting waterfalls was unfortunately really too stony.

The well known slides from Teva Extreme Outdoor Games on Sermenza.

Bojan in a kind of tricky rapid – just keep right at the end so that you don’t fall on the tree trunk stuck in a siphon. Who managed to hit it? Me:)

And the motto of the whole trip? Here you see how deeply get the wise words of Klemen Klemen engraved into our souls :)
